Story: Murthy (Master Atul) and Laddu Babu become friends; Laddu babu moves to Murthy’s house on his compulsion. Why did Murthy take him to his house? What happens after that is what the movie is about.
Performances:Kota Srinivasa Rao once again excelled in a good role. Poorna has very less screen space. The remaining artists are okay. Art work is good. Editing could have been better. Cinematography is good. Music by Chakri is not up to the mark. The Background score need to be more effective. The story is simple but the screenplay is predictable in the second half. The Dialogues are just okay; could have been better. Direction is good only in few episodes. The production values are okay.
Analysis: Laddu Babu is the story of an extremely obese man and what if he falls in love. Director could have concentrated more on his love story and inner feelings and emotions rather than including child sentiment in the second half. The complete first half goes aimless. The second half takes off well; but later bores you with predictable scenes and over dosage of sentiment. The thread between the kid and Naresh was handled well. The Audience may not bother if the thread is stretched a bit; the insertion of unnecessary scenes towards the climax it bores you much.
Naresh has done some fine work, his hard work is visible. A lot of care has been taken on his look. The make-up wasn’t uniform in the initial scenes but later it worked well. Bhumika gives a nice performance. Poorna’s role is very predictable and she is restricted only to a couple of scenes and songs. The movie lacks entertainment which we expect from Naresh films. The scenes evoked some laughs (initial part) mostly due to some good performances by the cast but not by the poorly written scenes. Kota Srinivasa Rao has done very good work but he couldn’t generate laughs mainly by bad script and over the top reused comedy scenes.
Art work is good. The Art director has gone for a single tone (brownish black) for the Laddu Babu’s house scenes and all the remaining frames are very colorful. Editing in the second half could have been better. Music by Chakri is below Average the melody songs too sound like decades old ones. The first song shot on Poorna and Naresh “Muddugumma Buttabomma” looked different in Black & White style. The story is weak, the screenplay and script were weak. The Direction was mostly mediocre except few episodes.
Ravi Babu who introduced Naresh with his “Allari” Movie disappoints this time. Naresh should be lauded for his effort to take up the challenge of portraying the role of Laddu babu.

Plus: Naresh, Performances
Minus: Screenplay, Over Dose of drama in the second half
Verdict: Not worthy enough, the only interesting part is the get-up of Naresh; can watch it later on a DVD
